“In the photographs of my boyfriend and I, we explore our relationship to each other and the space which surrounds us. Through a play with light, distance and gesture, we create a cinematic world that examines ideas of intimacy and symbiosis in a timeless still image, captured by instinct. The color scheme is overall relatively muted or monochromatic, with dashes of vibrant color. My work references the paintings of Tor Lundvall, whose deeply emotional utilization of space and selective use of color effects feelings ranging from isolated melancholy to mysterious fellowship. In the words of one of my classmates, the viewer feels that he or she is "invading a moment". All photos are shot on 35mm negative film and are printed as 17" x 24" glossy c-prints.”
