“This project is about proposing a new way of evaluating light which will be more appropriate for digitally-influenced architecture. Thoughtful analysis about how light is rendered with digital software provides us with insight into the architects’ intent, and could potentially lead us innovative lighting solutions unlike anything that has been built and experienced to date. By proposing an alternative discourse and new representation technique through which we can communicate light, this project explores the role of the lighting designer in the future.”

“The approach to the redesign of the first ward in the Hudson River State Hospital will consist of addressing the lighting issues related to psychiatric disorders… The redesign will include the four spaces that a patient encounters within an average day: patient’s room, corridor, dinning area, and parlor. The aim of this project is that people will think in the issues presented and continue to question the research and application of light therapy.”

“My thesis objectives are on one hand to find solutions or a path that would resolve the architectural identity crises that the Middle-East is facing. And on the other hand to shift the tendency of an importing middle-eastern situation in the field of architecture and art to an exporting one."
